Farm-Maxx FHT Series Hay Tedders

Farm-Maxx FHT Series Hay Tedders are designed to help farmers produce better-quality hay by spreading, lifting, and aerating cut forage for faster, more even drying.

Available in working widths from 110" to 212", the FHT Series offers configurations for smaller hay operations through larger acreage. Choose from pull-type, 3-point hitch, and hydraulic fold/tilt models to match your tractor, field size, and operating needs.

Ideal Applications

  • Hay and forage production
  • Small and mid-sized farms
  • Pasture and hay fields
  • Preparing hay for baling
  • Breaking apart heavy windrows
  • Improving airflow through cut forage
  • Reducing drying time
  • Small acreage through larger hay operations

Key Features

Faster, More Even Hay Drying

The FHT Series lifts, spreads, and aerates cut hay to increase exposure to sunlight and airflow. This helps moisture escape more efficiently and can reduce the amount of time hay needs to remain in the field before baling.

Faster, more uniform drying can also help reduce the risk of spoilage caused by hay remaining wet for extended periods.

Gentle Crop Handling

The rotor and tine system is designed to effectively spread hay while providing gentle crop handling. This helps minimize unnecessary leaf loss while maintaining the quality of valuable forage.

Adjustable Tine Position

Adjustable tine positioning allows operators to adapt the tedder to different crop and field conditions for effective hay spreading and aeration.

Pull-Type or 3-Point Hitch Options

The FHT-280 is available in both pull-type and 3-point hitch configurations, allowing operators to choose the setup that best matches their tractor and operating preferences.

FHT-280 Pull-Type: Towed behind the tractor and primarily supported by its own wheels. This reduces the amount of implement weight carried by the tractor's 3-point hitch.

FHT-280 3-Point: Mounts directly to the tractor's 3-point hitch, providing a compact connection and allowing the tractor's hitch system to raise and position the tedder.

Both configurations provide the same 110" working width and two-rotor design.

Hydraulic Fold & Tilt Options

The larger FHT-540 Series features hydraulic functionality designed to make transitioning between field operation and transport easier and more convenient.

With a wide 212" working width, these four-rotor models provide significantly greater field coverage for larger hay operations.

Heavy-Duty PTO Shaft with Clutch

The FHT Series includes a heavy-duty PTO shaft with clutch protection. The clutch helps protect the tractor and tedder driveline from sudden shock loads during operation for smoother, more dependable performance.

Balloon & Super Balloon Tires

Depending on the model, the FHT Series is equipped with balloon or super balloon tires designed to provide improved flotation and smoother travel across fields and softer ground conditions.

Provides the same 110" working width and two-rotor design as the pull-type model but mounts directly to the tractor's 3-point hitch. A good choice for operators who prefer a compact, mounted configuration.

FHT-540 Hydraulic Tilt – 212" Working Width
A larger four-rotor tedder designed for increased field coverage. Hydraulic functionality and a 212" working width make it well suited for larger hay operations where productivity and transport convenience are priorities.

FHT-540H-3Pt – 212" Working Width
A 3-point mounted version of the larger FHT-540 platform, combining a wide 212" working width with hydraulic functionality and direct tractor mounting.

Which FHT Hay Tedder Is Right for You?

Smaller operation & pull-behind setup: FHT-280 Pull-Type
Smaller operation & 3-point tractor setup: FHT-280 3-Point
Larger acreage & hydraulic setup: FHT-540 Hydraulic Tilt
Larger acreage & 3-point hydraulic setup: FHT-540H-3Pt

Why Use a Hay Tedder?

After hay is cut, moisture can remain trapped underneath and within heavier sections of the crop. A tedder lifts and redistributes the forage across the field, exposing more of the crop to moving air and sunlight.

Using a tedder at the right stage of the drying process can help promote more uniform moisture levels before raking and baling.

Faster Drying & Better Hay Management

The Farm-Maxx FHT Series provides options for both smaller and larger hay operations, with working widths ranging from 110" to 212".

With pull-type and 3-point configurations, low tractor horsepower requirements, balloon tires, PTO clutch protection, and hydraulic functionality on larger models, the FHT Series provides a practical solution for improving hay drying efficiency and preparing forage for baling.
